Press release: The 19th edition of the EDGY WOMEN festival runs from March 15th to April 1st 2012, exploring feminist issues through avant-garde artistic events. Alongside a performance series, the 2012 edition features professional-level workshops, public discussions, parties, a retrospective screening, an unusual hockey match, and a zombie book launch!
The performance series involves four productions.
– SPIN (Evalyn Parry) - Thursday March 22nd 8pm, Sala Rossa
Award-winning Toronto artist Evalyn Parry's multimedia musical tour-de-force performance celebrating the Bicycle.

– Je Baise les Yeux (Gaëlle Bourges) - Friday March 23rd 8pm, Sala Rossa
A political, metaphysical show-and-tell "conference" about strip-tease (in French).

– In Succube (Andréane Leclerc & Holly Gauthier-Frankel) - Saturday March 24th 8pm OR10:30pm, Sala Rossa
Two remarkable young Montreal artists - one a contortionist, the other an actress/singer/burlesque star - in a sizzling new creation.
A Studio 303 commission.
– Les Demimondes (The Scandelles) - Friday March 30th 8pm, Studio 303 (Also playing 3 other times)
Sourcing Dada-ist cabaret and burlesque, this production explores how the art world and media profit from the mystique of "the whore".
