The Image, November 15, 2012




We're doing it again because we want you to get the full impact of the set for Opéra de Montréal's Flying Dutchman, captured in this photo by Yves Renaud. CLICK ON THE IMAGE TO SEE IT IN FULL. 
This is from Act III with the men's chorus (on top) being driven mad and trying to "sing away" the chorus of cursed sailors (red, below). Your eyes aren't deceiving you - the set is skewed; this is just one of the elements that has made this production one of the most controversial in the history of the company.
