What do an ambivalent Cinderella, a blood-thirsty Little Red Ridinghood, a Prince Charming with a roving eye, and a Witch who raps all have in common? They all feature in Music Theatre Montreal's upcoming production, "Into the Woods"! A Stephen Sondheim classic and one of the most famous and beloved musicals of all time, "Into the Woods" tells the story of a Baker and his wife who learn that they've been cursed with childlessness by the Witch next door. They promptly embark upon a quest for the special objects required to break the spell, swindling, lying to, and stealing from popular fairytale characters along the way. Everyone's wish is granted at the end of Act One, but the consequences of their actions return to haunt them later, with disastrous - and hilarious - results. What begins as a lively, irreverent fantasy becomes a moving lesson about community responsibility and the stories we tell our children. Adventure, music, comedy, and a cow covered in flour… this is what a night at the theatre was meant to be!

Music Theatre Montreal was founded as a stepping stone organization for those who are pursuing a career in the arts - a bridge between the amateur and professional theatre worlds. To further this end, almost every person who holds a position in our organization is mentored and advised by a professional who has worked for many years in theatre. We place a great emphasis on fostering arts education, providing outreach programs that include free previews for theatre/music educators and their students, discounted shows for educational institutes, and development workshops. We are a Quebec registered not-for-profit organization that supports hard-working collaboration, fostering a professional environment while creating learning opportunities for everyone involved.

A Question and Answer session with the cast will follow the performance.
